Responsibilities


The Finance Department is responsible for receiving, accounting for, and investing all City revenue, processing payments to the City’s vendors and processing payroll for City employees.  The Finance Department prepares a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting each year since our first CAFR was prepared in 2004. The Finance Department has also been awarded the Auditor of State Award of Distinction for excellence in financial reporting and accountability each year since 2012. The City has been rated “AAA” by Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services. The Finance Department generates the Annual Budget and Annual Financial Reports.
 

Open Checkbook Initiative


The City of Grandview Heights is one of many municipalities participating in the State Treasurer of Ohio’s Open Checkbook initiative. The State Treasurer’s Office has contracted with a third-party software firm to receive and publish the fiscal information provided by municipalities such as the City of Grandview Heights.
 
The City of Grandview Heights does not have any control of the features available in this software and is unable to edit, customize, enhance or influence the end user customer experience of this product. The Help menu tools on the site can guide you on refining your search criteria via the use of the filter tools and sorting opportunities, as the initial screen will display summary data for all funds. The State Treasurer’s Office does provide the opportunity to provide your feedback to them via e-mail at questions@ohiocheckbook.gov.
