Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
Responsibilities
The Finance Department is responsible for receiving, accounting for, and investing all City funds, processing payments to the City’s vendors and processing payroll for City employees. The Finance Department prepares an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting each year since our first ACFR was prepared in 2004. The Finance Department has also been awarded the Auditor of State Award of Distinction for excellence in financial reporting and accountability each year since 2012. The City has been rated “AAA” by Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services.
The City of Grandview Heights is one of many municipalities participating in the State Treasurer of Ohio’s Open Checkbook initiative. The State Treasurer’s Office has contracted with a third-party software firm to receive and publish the fiscal information provided by municipalities such as the City of Grandview Heights.
