There is a great deal of information being shared right now amid the COVID-19 outbreak. We are updating our website and social media daily with new information. This information can all be found at www.grandviewheights.org/COVID-19.Our goal is to provide you with uninterrupted service and maintain critical infrastructure such as Police, Fire/Emergency Medical Services, dispatching/911, public utilities, and trash collection while protecting public health and our employees. Without a healthy workforce and under the current circumstances throughout Ohio, at best we can continue to provide basic services. To ensure that our employees remain healthy, we are practicing social distancing as recommended by the CDC as well as rotating employees on shifts. Should one shift be exposed to the virus, other shifts can continue the provision of basic services. Many employees have been redeployed to meet operational needs. Our employees have been placed on emergency standby when not on duty. The number of employees interacting with each other and the public at any one time has been reduced to preserve our manpower as this situation is expected to last weeks into months. To help minimize potential personal contact and make trash collection more efficient for our smaller Service Department shifts, we ask that effective immediately you please place your trash at the curb if you are physically able to do so. Please note that alley trash collection is NOT included in this request. If you would prefer to recycle your items while the City’s recycling service is suspended, please visit https://recycleright.org/ to locate a SWACO drop-off location near you. We thank you for your patience as we navigate this unprecedented public health emergency.
