Changes Coming to Pierce Field

Pierce Field

In the coming weeks, you will see a few changes happening at Pierce Field. A portion of the playground will have new turf installed this month. Demolition will happen next week, and new turf will be installed the week of July 19, weather permitting. The area under construction will be fenced off. A few parking spaces along First Avenue will be marked no parking weekdays from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm while work is being completed. We look forward to the end result!
Additionally, the restrooms are currently closed due to an issue with the sewer line. Over time, the line has failed causing multiple sewage backups. To remedy the issue, contractors will install new pipes and additional infrastructure to reduce the potential for backups. Hilo Lane may be closed for a very short duration between Oxley Road and Northwest Boulevard while contractors install the new pipes. The work is expected to be completed by the end of summer to allow for materials and parts to arrive. In the meantime, portable toilets are available on site and drinking fountains remain in operation. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience while repairs are completed.
