[ARCHIVED] Grandview Heights to Commence Economic Development Strategic Planning Process

Ec Dev Strategy

The City of Grandview Heights is excited to announce that Redevelopment Resources, LLC, an economic and community development consulting firm, has been selected to assist with creation of the City’s first comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan.

The City interviewed five firms, from a pool of fourteen proposals received, before selecting the chosen consultant. “We were thrilled to find a company who will embrace Grandview Heights as the authentic, vibrant and dynamic full-service City that it is, and who can help position us for long-term success as we recover from the pandemic and contend with changing economic forces,” said Grandview Heights’ Mayor Greta Kearns.

Kristen Fish-Peterson, Principal and CEO of Redevelopment Resources will lead the effort.  “We’re very excited to be assisting Grandview Heights with this planning effort. The community has so much going for it now and is in the perfect position to plan for continued long-term success.”

The City’s 2019 Community Plan, aimed at setting broad parameters to preserve and enhance community character and quality of life, established the need for further investment in economic development planning to best support fiscal sustainability and resiliency. The project will define and develop business attraction and expansion programs and strategies in alignment with the competitive advantages and outcome goals of the community.

City leaders are expecting the planning process to include broad public input. There will be opportunities for residents and business to contribute their thoughts and ideas through multiple forums, surveys, focus groups and online participation.

P’Elizabeth Koelker, Director of Planning and Community Development, added, “Through this inclusive process we hope to discover strategies to further support our creative and diverse business community while also attracting and accommodating synergistic new businesses, and in doing so, to continue to grow opportunities and enhance community character for our residents and the broader community.”

The project is kicking off this month and the team expects to wrap up its work by June of 2022.
