on the lower half of the walls of the building’s new east wing will continue in the next few days. A new sewer line for the shelter restrooms was ran from the shelter to Goodale and tied to the existing sewer there late last week, and a new natural gas line has also been installed to fuel furnaces in the shelter for cool weather months. The installation of those new heaters and the shelter’s steal roof installation are also underway.
A few issues with the Columbus Division of Water over design of the shelter water feed and irrigation system backflow preventer valve have been settled, and we expect to have a water supply to the park in the next couple weeks, which will then permit the new east field to be seeded and the irrigation system to be activated.
Excavation has begun for the new network of paths that will run around the park. A new retaining wall, that defines the east side of the playground, has also been constructed in the last few days. The playground equipment itself is expected to be delivered on or about July 7th, and its installation will begin shortly thereafter.
